Local Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 automobiles have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to authorities.
Vehicles, walls and postboxes were vandalized, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they reported in a official communication.
Law enforcement report they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a man discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish liquid.
The liquid had been applied in the pattern of a banned symbol, they reported.
Police then located numerous other vandalized automobiles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under regulations banning the public display of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement report preliminary tests suggest the fluid was most likely blood from a person.
"At present there remains no lead as to where it came from; investigators are presently not cognizant of any injuries in connection with the event," they added.
Local authorities said they were attempting "to unravel the case" and have appealed to the public for tips.
A senior representative commented the attack rendered him stunned and required to be solved quickly.
"This act hits the core of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the right-wing terrorist attack half a decade ago," he posted on online, mentioning the killing of nine people by a gunman aiming at people of migrant background in five years prior.
